As the world’s largest marine mammal hospital, The Marine Mammal Center advances ocean health through marine mammal rescue and rehabilitation, research, and education. Since its founding in 1975, the Center has rescued more than 26,000 animals along 600 miles of California coastline and in Hawai’i. These animals provide critical insights into the health of the ocean, which is inextricably linked to human health and the health of our planet. Our ocean is in trouble, and it is more important than ever to protect the marine ecosystems that are vital to the health of all life on Earth.
